Biodegradable Bamboo Floss Refills Description

2 x 30 metres of bamboo dental floss refills with activated charcoal in wax paper and Kraft box packaging

Our Zero Waste Dental Floss Refills are made from natural charcoal bamboo fibres, Candelilla wax, and peppermint essential oils, which gives them a very mild mint flavour. These bamboo dental floss refills are vegan friendly and completely biodegrade in your compost bin in roughly 6-12 months.

Once you have finished your 30 metres of biodegradable dental floss in the glass jar, you can purchase the zero waste bamboo tooth floss refills and pop them into the same glass jar dispenser.

The activated charcoal in the tooth floss refills have powerful toxin-clearing properties, which has proven to remove stains like plaque, red wine and coffee on your teeth. The activated charcoal fibres are soft between your teeth, and won't scratch off any enamel.

Activated charcoal is also:

  • antiviral
  • antibacterial
  • antifungal
  • detoxifying

Instructions – How to Use Your Biodegradable Bamboo Dental Floss Refills

Once you have finished a roll of biodegradable dental floss, you can easily replace the dental floss refills into the same glass jar dispenser. Unscrew the metal lid from the glass jar, then find the end of the refill dental floss string before placing it into the glass jar. Feed the end of the dental floss refill through the tiny hole on the metal lid, before screwing the metal lid back on to the glass far.

Once you pull out the desired length of dental floss, hook the floss string around the little metal piece that is sticking out of the lid. Once the floss is ‘hooked’, you should be able to pull firmly and the bamboo dental floss will easily break off. If the bamboo floss has fallen out of its hole, unscrew the metal lid, find the end of the dental floss and gently pull it through the tiny hole in the metal lid. Once a decent amount off floss has been pulled through, you can screw the metal lid back on to the glass jar.

Disposal – Where to Dispose the Biodegradable Eco Dental Floss Jar and Refills.

The bamboo dental floss refills with activated charcoal are completely biodegradable, so each bit of floss you have finished with, can either be placed into your compost bin, or in the regular landfill bin. If you need another glass jar dispenser for your floss refills, you can purchase it here

If you want to dispose of the glass jar with metal lid, you can place both of them in your recycling bin, but ensuring they aren’t joined together.

The box packaging is made from 100% recycled Kraft paper, so it can also be tossed into your compost bin or recycling bin after you open your biodegradable tooth floss.

Why Choose Biodegradable Plastic Free Floss Refills?

Traditional dental floss is composed of almost entirely of petroleum-based plastic and nylon fibres, that do not decompose naturally in your lifetime. Majority of traditional dental flosses come in a plastic dispenser that is not refillable nor can be recycled. Also most traditional flosses come in plastic packaging too. Our dental floss is biodegradable, and the dispenser is refillable, meaning you can use it over and over and over again. The dispenser is also made from recyclable materials, meaning you can put the glass jar, metal lid and Kraft packaging into your recycling bin once you are finished them.

Because dental floss is so flimsy and lightweight, it can easily be picked up in a puff of wind from your trash can, and carried into our natural environment. Dental floss can end up tangled around wildlife, strangling and suffocating them, as well as ingested because it is mistaken for food.

Not only does traditional floss have a negative environmental impact, but it’s actually bad for you, too. It is coated in highly toxic substances called PFASs, a subset of perfluorocarbons (PFCs), which are also responsible for some of the most potent greenhouse gas emissions according to the EPA.
